Game #16 has Carson Wentz back as QB1

The Washington Commanders (7-7-1) are back home with a lot of changes, and mostly with Carson Wentz named the starter for the team at quarterback for this game against the Browns, a team already eliminated from the playoffs. The Commanders control their own fate that if they win today and next week then they are guaranteed a playoff Wild Card spot. The other buzz around the team is the unveiling of their new mascot.

With Chase Young activated last week, he should got more reps in today’s game. The team could certainly hope for a Young resurgence as the team prepares for bigger games to come.

Vegas has the Commanders as a 2.5 point favorite in this game, and that point spread has widened slightly.

“ That’s why I really believe that no matter what happens your first two years, it’s always about where are you your third season.  Have you put the players in position? Are you confident in what you’re doing as far as your scheme? And then really the thing that just shows everybody we’re there is to get to the playoffs.”

“I mean, I love the fact that we’re in playoff contention. I love the fact that these last two games are gonna mean something no matter what happens. These next two games mean something because obviously you win it, then you gotta win the next one. You lose, you gotta win the next one and hope the right people lose. But yet you’re there, that’s the plus. But getting there, that tells us we’re on track, we’re doing the things that we need to do. We’ve found the players, we found.  What we’re doing is the right thing to do and that’s why it’s important. And then you can sit there in front of these guys and say, guys, we’ve built it the way we want or where we need to go now let’s take the next step.”

“It’s like Carolina — I took an old erector set, I put it together, but the bolts weren’t tight. Then I tightened ’em all up and said that’s what we need to do around here. So, as a visual, just understanding that that’s what we want to do. Get to the playoffs. Win in the playoffs. Have some success, and then see what happens … ”
